Big Dreams. High Hopes. Tremendous Impact.
These are the guiding principles behind Music & Miracles Superfest to rally for two causes at the Chicken Salad Chick Foundation – Fighting Cancer and Feeding the Hungry. The CSC Foundation took a DREAM that many thought was outlandish for such a young organization. Along the way there was always HOPE that through the doubt and hurdles our passion would overcome. The inaugural event on April 23, 2016 at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, AL was nothing less than a miracle itself which is providing real IMPACT. After 21 months of planning, 50,430 enjoyed a larger than life concert with country music’s top entertainers - Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Old Dominion. As many know, the concert was the vision of the late Kevin Brown, co-founder with his wife Stacy Brown, of the Auburn-based Chicken Salad Chick restaurants. When Kevin was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2013, he said a voice spoke to him saying, “This is your opportunity for much greater things. Use this in ways that will impact those around you.” And the focus for the CSC Foundation became very clear. From that moment forward, the decision was made to form the Foundation to concentrate on two life changing initiatives: contributing to finding a cure for cancer and ending hunger in America. But how? Then, in another moment of clarity, Kevin envisioned Music & Miracles Superfest. The first ever stadium concert at Jordan-Hare Stadium that would bring the biggest and brightest stars together to entertain while raising funds for those in need.
“Kevin was always at work planning this concert even during his treatment. It became his mission, purpose and drive right up to the very end,” Stacy explained. “It was Kevin’s dream to make history, to make music and to make miracles at Jordan-Hare. Even though he was no longer with us physically when concert came to fruition last April, it was such a magical night, and when a full moon came over the stadium, we all knew Kevin was still working hard to make it perfect! Now in 2017, we will do it again with the same goal in mind - to ‘party with a purpose’ so we can make miracles happen for those in need.”
